The work differs from politics to political thought itself, as those who carry out the political action is implemented ideas provided by other people before him or come with new political ideas and aims to express the interests and objectives of the groups of society without the function of theorization contrary to political thinking and study as a science done Continuous development and renewal with the definition of the powers of the state (sovereigns) and its relationship with the governed and its role in regulating the affairs of the state and its interests. It is also different from political analysis, which is to explain and analyze what policymakers do.

The political sciences are characterized by a number of methods used for research and study, including the functional method, which shows that jobs do not exist in society except when there is a need for them and that the existence of those functions must be linked to the organization and continuity of this community. There is also a developmental approach that deals with the historical development of the political development process.

The methods used to study political power have several objectives, including, for example, a method that deals with the study of power centers and decision-making through the study of the known constitutional mechanisms. There are also studies concerned with the study of influential people who have power and practice through knowledge of the aspects of excellence they have and knowledge The nature of their personalities There is another method that is interested in studying the mechanisms of decision-making and determining the actors and their effectiveness.
